Gambling can become an addictive coping mechanism in which a person finds it hard or impossible to stop destructive gambling behaviors. - Association of Problem Gambling Service Administrators
This organization was formed is 2000 and its aim is to conduct national research to gather information in order to properly provide awareness and treatment programs to the American public. APGSA has gambling treatment facilities in almost every state within the continental U.S.

- National Counsel of Problem Gambling
NCPG has a 24 hour counseling hotline that individuals with gambling problems can call to receive confidential counseling. In addition, there are affiliate partner locations in several states that have certified gambling addiction counselors.

- Florida Council of Compulsive Gambling
Counseling support and a 24 hour hotline is provided for problem gamblers as well as their affected families. FCCG also provides training and educational programs to several establishments that includes government and law enforcement agencies, medical facilities, faith-based organization and gambling operators.

- The Council of Compulsive Gambling of New Jersey
CCGNJ offers free and lost cost treatment services and a 24 hour hotline. In an effort to discourage gambling to minors this organization has teamed up with the New Jersey Lottery Committee to encourage adults not to purchase lottery tickets for minors.

- Iowa Gambling Treatment Program
This organization provides counseling at various treatment centers across Iowa and phone and email counseling to those who have travel restrictions. Other services offered are transitional housing, financial counseling for problem gamblers and other affected persons and educational programs.
